Theatre of the World

Event Type:

Alan Michelson (Mohawk, USA) in conversation with Wanda Nanibush

Alan Michelson’s Theatrum Orbis Terrarum (Theatre of the World) is a video installation on view at the AGO. It is titled after the first modern European world atlas, with videos culled from dozens of maps, illustrations, paintings, photographs, videos, and audio material. Theatrum transmutes five hundred years of colonial history, into a charged meditation created from a contemporary indigenous perspective.
